Associate of Science Degree in Business Marketing

Program Description
The Business Marketing Program is designed to train students for employment in various industries that utilize Business marketing skills and knowledge. Students who successfully complete this program will have knowledge and skills in many areas of marketing plus accounting, computer applications, human resources, leadership, management and administration. The program consists of courses that require readings, exams, projects and other learning strategies and outcomes assessments determined by each instructor to meet course objectives.

The Associate of Science Degree in Business Marketing will allow you to achieve a complete marketing experience in two years or less. Our A.S. degree will allow you to complete the required marketing coursework, graduate with an Associate in Science degree and gain full credit to continue your studies into the Bachelor of Science degree.

Marketing and Public Relations Program Objectives
When you specialize your business degree in Sales and Marketing, your coursework may include these career-enhancing courses:





  • Consumer Behavior – Students in this course analyze consumer-purchasing behavior as it relates to development of marketing mix programs. Important considerations include economic, psychological, cultural, cognitive, and social factors.
  • Advertising and Public Relations – – Providing an in-depth look at the field, this course covers media relations, media buying, determining appropriate media, promotions, public relations and publicity development tools, methods for improving customer satisfaction, relationship-building strategies, and ethics in advertising and public relations.
  • Salesmanship – This course addresses the complex and demanding responsibilities of sales personnel, including forecasting, territory management, understanding customer expectations and buyer behavior, gathering feedback, communicating, budgeting, and relating sales goals to marketing goals.
  • International Marketing – Providing a conceptual framework for marketing internationally, whether exporting or establishing a multi-national enterprise (MNE), this course explores development of international marketing programs as well as various macroenvironmental factors that affect decision-making in an international setting.
  • Creativity, Innovation and New Product Development – Concentrating on creativity and innovation as tools for marketers and small business managers, students in this course identify opportunities for using these processes and apply them to implement and expand product lines in corporate and entrepreneurial ventures as well as to introduce new products.
Science in Business Marketing Coursework

  • Marketing Strategies – Merchandising and marketing as a strategy for motivating consumers to purchase products and services.
  • Consumer Behavior – Theories of buyer behavior and research findings as they apply to sales. Analysis of consumer profiles and differentiation of such profiles by geographic location.
  • Market Research- Exploration of research for marketing decisions. Concepts and applications for gathering, processing, and interpreting primary and secondary data in identifying the needs and wants of prospective consumers.
  • Principles of Advertising and Public Relations – Exploration of advertising management. Discussion of marketing, creative elements, media, effectiveness, integration within the marketing plan, quantitative approaches, agency organization and management.
