Computer Repair Technician
“Whether you take courses on campus or online, Atlantis University has the Global-Industry Certification Program that can be the perfect compliment to your technical education and career. ”
The CompTIA A+ certification is the industry standard for computer support technicians. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification that confirms proficiency in areas such as installation, preventative maintenance, networking, security, and troubleshooting. CompTIA A+ is part of the certification track for numerous top-level corporations (e.g. Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Cisco, Novell), and it has already been earned by more than 700,000 people worldwide.
The CompTIA A+ program taught at Atlantis University carefully prepares students for the two exams that must be passed in order to receive the certification: (exam code 220-701); and CompTIA A+ Practical Application (exam code 220-702).
The CompTIA A+ Essentials exam looks to confirm competency in the fundamentals of computer technology, networking and security, as well as the communication skills and professionalism now required of all entry-level IT professionals.
A natural extension to the knowledge and skills covered in the first exam, the CompTIA A + Practical Application exam takes a more "hands-on" orientation, focusing on the professional's ability to troubleshoot and then resolve problems through the intelligent selection and application of tools.
Once the CNT diploma has been earned, Atlantis students looking to move forward with their education can then apply their certification credits towards the course requirements for either an Associate's of Science or Bachelor' s of Science Degree at the university.
Preparation for global industry certification is also built into the degree programs at Atlantis University.
