The Master of Information Technology at ATLANTIS UNIVERSITY is an intensive graduate degree program designed to prepare the graduate to assume a senior staff of management position in the information technology field, and to ultimately become an Information Technology Professional. Where the undergraduate program readies the graduate to become a programmer-analyst, telecommunication administrator or apprentice database administrator, the Master Degree Program prepares the graduate to manage such a group of IT professionals. *The Student is capacitated to evaluate, elect and develop vanguard information technology systems that are of the greatest convenience for his/her business.

Program Objetive
Upon completion of the Master of Information Technology Degree Program, students are prepared for executive positions in the field of Information Technology Management. This Master Degree aims to provide training in cutting edge information technology for IT professionals wishing to upgrade their qualification and skills.
The Objectives of the Master of Information Technology Degree program are:
1. - To provide the skills for graduates to be proficient in the use of information technology and information systems to professionally develop solutions to real world IT problems.
2.- To provide sufficient theoretical and conceptual background and associated skills to people already working in the IT industry, to use information technology more effectively as part of their jobs and to deal effectively with information technology professionals who provide services to them.
The program gives the student a global knowledge in the areas of information technology and communication for the creation, transformation and development of organizations oriented to manage and adequate knowledge and appropriation of the technological advancements to sustain their business development in a highly global, interconnected competitive world.
Breakdonw by Course
Module I - MIT501 - E-Business Technology and Management.
Students learn fundamental principles and concepts of managing Internet negotiations, transactions and business. Topics include analytic review of www technology trends, software availability, electronic payments and transactions, intra-organizational electronic commerce, ecommerce policies, ecommerce applications in retail, government and health sectors.
Module II - MIT521 - Information Technology Project Management.
Students gain the knowledge of how to optimize IT development an delivery processes in order to bring IT projects on the web more efficiently, effectively and on a budget. Topics include database system analytics, electronic management tools, total quality management, business systems analysis, contracts and procurement, information technology trends and budget analysis.
Module III - MIT533 - Global E-Business Strategies.
Students learn different means for developing a corporate strategy, with a special emphasis on the work of various recognized strategists in the business and IT fields. Topics will include advances in technology, domestic regulatory policies and business strategies for national and international technology policies.
Module IV - MIT547 - Information Security Management.
Students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to learn the importance of data and information in today’s digital world and the processes to protect it. Topics include data classification, monitoring, reporting, strategy, awareness, network components, its processes and policy.
Module V - MIT561 - Advanced Database Management.
To make better database management decisions, students learn to design and implement rational debases with web access for database-driven web applications. Topics will include learning about database management systems such as oracle, database querying with SQL and database administration.
Module VI - MIT587 - Managing Software Development.
Students learn bout the aspects of programming and concentrate on directing the software development process. Topics in this course will cover Visual Basic .NET, computer programming, history of programming languages, and project management.
Module VII - MBA691- Managing Innovation.
Students learn how to create websites and networks and learn about several different types of web development software programs. Topics will include java applications, managing databases, developing WebPages, multimedia, graphics, internet protocols, animation tolls and HTML sites.
Module VIII - MIT621 - Web Services & Service Oriented.
Architecture – Students learn about service-oriented architecture and how it provides a more agile and comprehensive way to integrate information systems and business processes. Topics in this course include WS-Security, WS-Policy, SCA, UDDI, WSDL and SDO.
