If you are interested in an exciting career in global business, the Associate’s degree in International Business offered at Atlantis University is there to give you the foundation that is necessary for success. The program courses can be taken online, as well as at our Miami, Florida campus, and are designed to offer a broad survey of the field. Students also develop critical sensitivities to issues of cultural diversity, and learn how to effectively communicate , negotiate, and carry out business operations across international borders.

The following important objectives have been built into the Associate’s degree in International Business offered at Atlantis University:

>> Exercise the analytical and critical thinking processes of students so that they can make effective business decisions.

Career Coursework
Program courses at Atlantis University can either be taken at our Miami, Florida campus, or online. Students working towards an Associate' s degree in  International Business should expect to enroll in at least some of the following career-enhancing classes:


















  • International Management - This course looks a the dynamics of management in International firms: leadership, motivation, communication, human resource development, and other managerial practices are considered. Strategies for adapting managerial practice to “local” environments are also explored.
  • Customs Legislation - This course introduces students to regulations and laws pertaining to Customs administration, procedures, offenses, taxes, and the application of import and export duties.
  • Market Research - This course focuses on the role of research when formulating marketing decisions. Students gain a familiarity with the techniques that are behind gathering, processing, and interpreting primary and secondary data for the purpose of identifying what prospective consumers need and want.
  • Fundamentals of Foreign Trade - Students are taught the basic rules and institutions of international trade.  Particular focus is given to the World Trade Organization. Additional topics of discussion include influential trade theories, the effect of trade on income distribution, the implications of tariff impositions, as well as the economic mechanisms and policy issues that often arise in world trade.
  • International Law and Economics - This course looks at international law as it relates to economics. The law of treaties, jurisdiction and immunity, human rights, international economic law, peaceful settlement of disputes, and the use of force are all considered.
  • International Banking and Finance - Students are introduced to tools and techniques for analyzing finance problems within the context of multinational businesses.
