ATLANTIS UNIVERSITY (AU) - BACHELORS PROGRAMS

Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems

Program Description
The Bachelor’s of Science in Management Information Systems (MIS) provides students with a solid foundation in the areas of business and technology, preparing them to effectively call upon information technology as a means of improving business processes across a broad spectrum of disciplines.

The MIS at Atlantis University teaches how information systems have a central function in the planning, control, and decision-making activities of the organization.  Program coursework introduces the principles  and methods behind the analysis, design, planning, and management of both simple and complex information systems.  The managerial aspects of information systems are emphasized through a solid curriculum of business and computer science courses that draw from AU’s School of Business, as well as their Unitech College of Technology.

By the time students earn their diploma, they will be able to demonstrate advanced skills in business application software and current programming  languages.  Furthermore, MIS  graduates will be adept at understanding and managing all phases of the software development cycle as it operates within the context of a business environment.

Much like many of the other degree programs available at Atlantis University, students have the option to take courses at our Miami, Florida campus, as well as online.  Additionally, individuals who already possess  an Associates (60 credit hours) in Computer Information Technology, or an equivalent degree, can petition to transfer many of their previously-earned credits. Those students can then complete the Bachelor's program by taking whatever additional courses are needed to earn a total of 123 credit hours.
