Program Description
The B.S. in Business Administration offered at Atlantis University equips students for a career in the varied world of business, preparing them to carefully negotiate the goals of economic success within the context of greater social and environmental responsibilities.

The Business Administration curriculum is taught by distinguished faculty who are adept at nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit that has always been the key to successful business and management operations. The program offers a well-rounded education that includes general courses in management, marketing, economics, accounting, statistics, and law courses. Furthermore, students select one of five concentrations Management, Economics, International Business, Marketing, or Public Relations ‒ allowing them to enter the job market with the advantage of having a specific area of specialization under their belt.

Upon earning a Bachelor’s diploma from the AU Business School, students will be qualified to gain entry into the global marketplace and work towards leadership positions in business, government, and a variety of other industries in which professional business skills are needed.

  • Students are taught to analyze the external and internal influences on business institutions and practices.

 

Train students to identify the structures in business organizations that can be managed for productivity.


Ensure that students are able to distinguish the proper roles and responsibilities of executives and subordinates working in business, industry, and non-profit organizations.

 

Encourage students to use technology and other resources to remain current in the business fields of their choice.


Exercise the analytical and critical thinking processes of students so that they can make effective business decisions.


Train students to identify, analyze, and manage the sorts of legal and ethical issues that often arise in business environments.

 

Demonstrate effective written communication skills in a business environment.

Business Administration Coursework

Program courses at Atlantis University can either be taken at our Miami, Florida campus, or online. Students working towards a Bachelor’s degree in  Business Administration  should expect to enroll in at least some of the following career-enhancing classes:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Consumer Behavior – This course analyzes consumer-purchasing behavior as it relates to the development of marketing mix programs. Important considerations include economic, psychological, cultural, and social factors.
  • Project Management – This course explores the importance and dimensions of project management. Topics include the roles and responsibilities of a project manager, the project environment, developing effective project teams, the five steps of a project, constructing network diagrams, and an introduction to analysis  techniques such as CPM and PERT.
  • International Entrepreneurship – Study cases from the Harvard Business Review are utilized to analyze actual business operations in different geographic locations. The course illustrates how success in the world of international business requires that innovation and culture are carefully balanced.
  • E-Commerce Management – This course reviews e-commerce principles and trends with regards to a company’s long-range corporate objectives. Students study issues in global competition, and develop strategies to provide sustained competitive advantage through e-commerce technologies.
  • Money and Banking – This course covers the roles of money and credit in the American Economy, as well as the ways in which monetary factors have a bearing on income and prices. Specific topics include money, interest rates, foreign exchange, international finance system, bank management, and the Federal Reserve System.
  • Economic Issues – Current economic events in the United States are discussed and analyzed. Topics include the Federal Reserve, Wall Street, and the ways in which economic factors influence society.
