Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
Concentration in International Business

Program Description
If your goal is to be a leader in global business, AU’s Bachelor’s of Science in International Business will give you the educational foundation and training that is necessary for success. Our program teaches you to recognize global differences, and then strategically respond to them with a sensitivity to cultural diversity a critical ingredient  when communicating, negotiating, and handling legal matters in the international business arena. Ultimately, once you have earned your diploma from the AU Business School, you will possess the know-how to expand businesses of all sorts across national and international borders.

AU’s International Business Concentration teaches the theory and practice of modern business organizations in the context of current global-economic, political, and socio-cultural environments. The degree curriculum prepares students to either enter the workplace directly, or to further their education by pursuing an MBA or other graduate studies in the field of business.

International Business Program Objective

The following important objectives have been built into the Bachelor’s in International Business  offered at Atlantis University:

 

 

 

  • Teach students how to analyze the external and internal influences on business institutions and practices.
    • Train students to identify those structures in business organizations that can be managed for productivity.
  • Ensure that students are able to distinguish the proper roles and responsibilities of executives and subordinates working in business, industry, and non-profit organizations.
    • Encourage students to use technology and other resources to remain current in the business fields of their choice.
  • Exercise the analytical and critical thinking processes of students so that they can make effective business decisions.
  • Train students to identify, analyze, and manage the sorts of legal and ethical issues that often arise in business environments.
  • Demonstrate effective written communication skills in a business environment.
  • Make sure that students who earn their diploma can  if they so desire  enter MBA or other graduate-level programs in business without further academic preparation.
International Business Coursework

Program courses at Atlantis University can either be taken at our Miami, Florida campus, or online. Students working towards a Bachelor’s degree in International Business  should expect to enroll in at least some of the following career-enhancing classes:

 

  • International Management -This course explores aspects of management in international firms:  leadership, motivation, communication, human resource development, and other managerial practices. Issues related to adapting managerial practice to “local” environments are also considered.
  • Customs Legislation - Explore customs-related laws in terms of administration and procedures, as well as the application of import and export duties, taxes, and offences.
    • International Law and Economics -This course offers a survey of international law as it relates to economics. Specific topics of discussion include the law of treaties, jurisdiction and immunity, human rights, international economic law, peaceful dispute settlement, and the use of force.
  • International Banking and Finance -The tools necessary to analyze multinational business and finance problems are reviewed. Students will learn to analyze different capital markets around the world.
  • International Negotiations &Transactions -This course looks at the ways in which management functions in international firms (e.g., Leadership, Motivation, Communication, Human Resource Development). Issues that arise when applying managerial practices across global environments are also considered.
